Did you know that makeup artistry can be backed up by math and science? On August 3rd, Celebrity Makeup Artist Dawn Maloney will be teaching how to use her new book “The Makeup Artist Design Book”. This book teaches facial anatomy structures, and how to apply makeup techniques to these areas.
She will go through 50 Face Shapes, where you, the artist, will learn how to counter-shade, shade, and how to align blush, contour, bronzer and highlighter.
You will learn about the 32 eye combinations (16 closed-set and 16 wide-set) in which you will discover that their eye shape gives the answers to the artist how to contour the eye with shadow placement and eyeliner.
The 36 lip combinations will tell how to correct the lip shape with lip liner as the main corrective tool (18 normal and 18 dehydrated). You will also learn about what lip product formulations work/do not work for a dehydrated lip condition.
Learning these techniques are very important to a makeup artist because you will find many options of contouring and highlighting very specific areas and creating balance, symmetry, and continuity on the face. Although there are many methods in makeup applications, still there are no rules for creatives! Dawn will teach you the methodologies and you can use your own artistic creativity to make and break rules as your creativity expands to new heights.
