Meet Your Makeup Artist: Danielle

Hi! My name is Danielle Vocaturo. I’ve been working at the Makeup Studio since March, and I’m happy to share that I will be accepting new clients here at the Makeup Studio on select Saturdays. My Instagram is https://www.instagram.com/deemariebeauty_/ and I appreciate any support! 

My love for makeup started when I was a sophomore in high school. I always loved art class, specifically drawing and painting, since I was a kid. I loved blending colors on a canvas, and realized when I got older I could start making my face my canvas (lol). I began teaching myself how to do my makeup for school, and immediately fell in love with it. Makeup has no rules, and I loved playing around with different products and looks. I feel like it’s a universal experience for a teenage girl to discover makeup and start going to school in a full face of makeup everyday after. I was fully wearing a smokey eye at 7am everyday and if I could go back, I wouldn’t change a thing about it!

Jokes aside, makeup is something that you learn by doing, so I’d like to think that those early morning wakeups in high school and dramatic smokey eyes are what really drove me to wanting to make a career out of this. The more I practiced, the more I quickly started to become the “makeup friend” (everybody has one). Whenever friends or family members had special events, parties, Halloween outings, etc. I was the one who was doing their makeup. I loved the feeling of making someone else feel beautiful!

I’ve been a freelance Makeup Artist since I was 18 years old, and it’s one of the most rewarding jobs I’ve ever had. Doing makeup never feels like work to me. When a client sits in my chair, it's fun, it's personal, and it’s more and more rewarding every time. I took The Makeup Studio’s 40 hour Advanced Makeup Artistry Techniques course in March for additional education, and it’s enlightened me in more ways than I can imagine. I’m grateful to be working here and even more grateful to be accepting new clients at this time!
