Meet Your Makeup Artist: Erin

My earliest clients were my friends. Growing up, makeup was always something fun and creative for me—a way to play, experiment, and express myself. I’ve always been interested in art, so makeup naturally became another outlet to improve my artistic abilities. From casual makeovers with friends to bold experimental looks, it was all about exploring creativity.

But things got serious this year when I decided to take my passion to the next level. I enrolled in the 40-Hour Advanced Makeup Techniques class with MakeupClasses.com. Learning under Dawn Maloney was a game-changer for my career. I mastered The Anatomical Makeup Method™ and learned how to use The Makeup Artist’s Design Book—two tools that completely transformed the way I approach makeup artistry.

This method taught me how to create balanced, symmetrical, and completely personalized looks by working with each client’s unique features. Whether it’s a soft, natural “you but better” look or a full-glam transformation, my goal is always the same: make you feel comfortable, confident, and radiant. Makeup should enhance your natural beauty—unless you’re going for something dramatic, in which case, let’s make it fabulous!

One of my favorite parts of my job is connecting with people. Every client brings a new story, a new style, and a new opportunity to create something beautiful. In addition to makeovers, I also offer private makeup lessons at The Makeup Studio in Nutley, NJ. In these one-on-one sessions, I teach women how to apply makeup using the products they already own—whether that’s by following The Anatomical Makeup Method™ or learning a specific look they’ve always wanted to try. Clients love how personal and interactive these lessons are, and they leave with a step-by-step written manual so they can recreate the look anytime.
