From time to time we all get stuck in a rut feeling we are uncertain with ourselves or the future. Sometimes, there is no one fix for everything, but by tweaking the small aspects of your everyday life it can lead to big changes.
If you stick to these habits consistently for 30 days— you will not only notice a physical change, you will feel it mentally too.
Wake Up at The Same Time Everyday
Your routine begins when you roll over in the morning. To my not-so morning people, waking up at the same time everyday does NOT mean waking up early– just being consistent. The top three benefits of doing this include:
Stabilizes your mood
Increased energy
Adds immediate structure to your day
WATER, WATER, WATER!
Drinking water may be the best thing you can do for your body. In the morning, before you grab your phone or a coffee drink a tall glass of water. Water can help:
Clear Skin
Improves Digestion
Boots alertness and mood
Tip: Put a glass of water on your nightstand before bed each night so it's easily accessible when you wake up!
Make Your Bed
It sounds mundane, or non-life changing, but by making your bed every morning, you already completed a task for the day. Taking just two minutes everyday to make your bed can give you:
Instant accomplishment
Cleaner space
Productive mindset
Move Your Body
Set a goal for yourself each day to do some kind of workout whether its walking, running, or yoga. There’s no need for an intense workout just by moving your body you will notice that:
Easier stress management/mood booster
Better sleep
Improved cognitive function
Treat Yourself With Kindness
The way we think or speak about ourselves matters more than we think. The way you talk to yourself shapes your confidence and your mood. Most people wouldn’t say half the things they say about themselves if they were talking to a friend. Practicing words of affirmation can help you change the way you think about and see yourself. Start by saying:
“I am worthy of good things”
“I am proud of myself”
“I am confident in who I am”
Try to stay away from negative thoughts like:
“I look bad today”
“Nothing works out for me”
“Everyone is better than me”
At the end of the day changing your life doesn’t come from one big decision, its the choices you make throughout the day. You don’t need to be perfect when altering your habits and definitely not all at once. Start with two habits you want to change and build your routine from there. In 30 days you will notice physical changes and a shift in your mood and confidence.
