When we think of “Halloween Makeup”, I think most of our minds automatically go to “scary” and “gory”, or something that requires a lot of time and effort. Think Cady Heron when she showed up to that Halloween party, ya know?
However, Halloween makeup doesn’t always have to require a lot of effort! Of course it could if you want it to, but for basic level makeup artists or enthusiasts, we can almost always utilize makeup in our personal collection to successfully create a beautiful Halloween makeup look!
In this video, I am showing how I create a fun vampire look, done with Dawn Til Dusk makeup products.
For vampire makeup, the main focus is usually always on the eyes and lips. For the eyes, I used Dawn Til Dusk’s Natural Incandescent #2 palette, mainly using the last three shades. This palette consists of cool toned purple shades, perfect for a vampire eye look. To give the illusion of the “immortal” look vampires have, I took some of our Dawn Til Dusk blush in shade Cinnamon Rose and blended it under my eyes. I also smudged some of our Ninja pencil eyeliner on my lash line to create some dimension and darken the look.
For my lips, I really wanted to make them that “blood” red color. Our pencil lip liner in shade Winery, and our lipstick in shade Red Alert were the perfect pair. I also took some Red Alert and dragged it down the side of my chin with a small detail brush, to give the appearance of blood coming from the mouth. Using red lipstick in the place of fake blood has been a trick of mine since my college years! It’s a little bit of a softer alternative to using fake blood, and is typically something that most people already have in their makeup collection. To further amplify the red lipstick blood drip, I decided to use our Eye Kandy glitter in shade Cherry Bomb, paired with the Eye Kandy Liquid Sugar base. This turned out so cute and fun and really pulled the whole look together!
The rest of the face is done in the same way I always do my base makeup. I used our Aloe foundation in shade B1, with our Cloud Coverage concealer in shade “Ivory”. If you really wanted to give the illusion of a vampire, I would even recommend using a foundation shade that is lighter than your typical shade. Vampires are pale! Even though vampires are pale, I typically still like to bring some dimension and color back to my face after applying foundation, so I did use a little bit of our DTD bronzer in shade Matte Bronze, and our blush in shade Cinnamon Rose.
We would love to see what beautiful, fun, and spooky looks you put together this Halloween season! Tag @makeup_classes_ in your Instagram posts or stories and have a fun, safe Halloween!
